Hungarian-born Feher studied art in Budapest, Italy and Germany before coming to America in 1928, where he had a scholarship to study at the Art Institute of Chicago. He move to Hawaii in 1947 where he worked as a designer for the Bishop Museum and taught at the Honolulu Academy of Arts.

He was also flown around the continental United States by United Airines, to paint watercolours of cities for advertisements and calendars until about 1950.
