Butterflies – plate 2, Emile-Allain Séguy

Artist Emile-Allain Séguy Along with Edouard Bénédictus, Emile Séguy was one of the most influential decorators and ornamentalists of the Art Deco period. The greatest producers of fabrics, above all Bianchini-Ferrier, or makers of wallpaper such as Duschêne-Binet or Leroy, made use of his creations. At the Art Deco exhibition of 1925, Emile Séguy was awarded two gold medals. Having reached the zenith of his art, in 1929 Séguy created an exceptional portfolio of illustrations of butterflies: 20 stencil-coloured plates, published by Tolmer.
