Grace Kelly in 1954

In 1947, Grace Kelly entered the American Academy of Dramatic Art and started her career by acting in plays on Broadway. In 1951, she had her first cinema role in Henry Hathaway’s film Fourteen Hours. Noticed by Gary Cooper, she was cast in Fred Zinnemann’s film High Noon in 1952. Her career had now been launched. Grace Kelly became famous and acted in Mogambo by the director John Ford and three films by Alfred Hitchcock, Dial M for Murder, Rear Window and To Catch a Thief. in 1954, her career was crowned by an Oscar for The Country Girl by the director George Seaton. In 1956, aged 27, Grace Kelly put an end to her film career and became Princess of Monaco by marrying Rainier III of Monaco. She died after a car accident in 1982. A recognised actress, Grace Kelly also marked her times thanks to her elegance.
