The composition is exemplary. The train runs down along an arc from the top right corner of the poster: it is descending towards to the Côte d'Azur. The locomotive's plume of white smoke forms a division between two zones: to the left, a dark blue evokes the night, during which the train ran; to the right, the blue grows lighter and sails appear: it is taking us to the Mediterranean. The geometric lettering plays on the horizontal lines that depict the waves. With just three colours and airbrushed shadings, Zenobel manages to evoke both the magic of the great express trains and the charm of the Riviera.
