Paris, rue de Seine, Peter Cornelius

Photographer Peter CorneliusPeter Cornelius, the German photographer, was one of the first people to use colour photography after the war. Cornelius fell under the charm of Paris where, encouraged by the photographer Izis Bidermanas, who introduced him to Jacques Prévert, he published his album Couleur de Paris in 1961. After being killed in a car accident, Peter Cornelius left behind a singular body of work, in particular his colour photographs, depicting post-war popular Paris.
