When Duhamel du Monceau's Treatise on Fruit Trees was republished in 1806, the publisher had the idea of calling on two renowned botanists and
draughtsmen, Antoine Poiteau and Pierre Turpin.
The major interest of this reissue, in addition to its undeniable scientific quality, lies in its 420 lithographed plates enhanced with
watercolor. The splendid illustrations and representations of the different varieties make it still today the most beautiful book published on fruits.
