Swiss ski race in Unterwasser, 1939, Martin Peikert – MONT06

After training at the École des Beaux-Arts in Geneva, Martin Peikert started his career as a graphic artist at Orell Füssli's printshop in Zürich and also for Edward Bernay's famous agency.
In 1927, Peikert opened his own agency and received his first orders for tourist posters, especially from the Canton of Les Grisons.
After moving to the countryside of the Vaud, near Lausanne, he designed numerous posters for Les Diablerets, Villars-sur-Ollon and Crans-Montana. Peikert remains one of the major artists of winter sports posters.
