King Kong, 1933, René Péron — CINE27

This poster, the French version of the films, was created by René Péron in 1933. King Kong quickly became an icon of fantasy cinema and has been adapted many times since the 1930s.
René Péron, who designed more than 2,000 cinema posters between 1925 and 1960, worked with some of the world's greatest directors: Les Visiteurs du Soir by Marcel Carné, Jour de Fête and Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot by Jacques Tati, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Roberto Rossellini, René Clément and Max Ophuls. The only major blot on this brilliant career as an illustrator was the poster for the despicable 1941 exhibition The Jew and France.
