Venice and the Lido, 1930, Vittorio Grassi
A self-taught artist, Grassi started his graphic career for the magazine La Casa, for which he drew interior decors. In 1910, he took part in the secessionist exhibition in Rome, for which he designed the posters and catalogue covers. From 1913 to 1943, he taught drawing and engraving at the Academy of Rome. During the 1930s, ENIT, the Italian office of tourism, commissioned him to produce a series of touristic posters for the cities of Rome, Venice and Assisi.
