Suze, 1955, Herbert Leupin

Swiss graphic artist, painter, illustrator and designer, Herbert Leupin is one of the most prolific and talented Swiss poster artists. After a stint in Paris in 1936 with Paul Colin, back in Switzerland, he made his first advertisements for the Basel butcher's shop Bell and Steinfels soaps in a style strongly influenced by the new German objectivity.
From the 50s onwards, his cheerful, brightly coloured posters won over many advertisers: Bata, Coca Cola, Agfa, Rolex, Suchard and many others.
